Adapt ยท Hear the page

Got the sheet music? Hear how it goes.

Upload a PDF, MusicXML or MuseScore file and LalaScript plays it back at the written tempo, in your browser, free. Hearing a piece always helps playing it, and with a PDF that has never been an option before. If you learn by ear, this is the page: hear the piece, slow it down, hear the tune on its own, then take the audio with you.

Start free, no card needed. Your first piece is free; playback is free on every piece you make.

Press play. This is the engine, not a recording.

Every version here plays back from the notation itself. In the studio, your own upload plays the same way.

From the page to your ears in three steps.

1

Upload the score

A PDF, MusicXML or MuseScore file. A clean export reads exactly; a scan comes back with a note on which bars to check.

2

Hear it

LalaScript reads the notes, the rhythm and the tempo mark and plays the piece in your browser. Any bar, from the start, as many times as you like.

3

Make it yours to learn from

Say "make the tempo 60", "just the melody", or "make it easier". It plays again straight away. Then download the MP3 to practise with.

For everyone who learns by ear.

๐Ÿ‘‚

Hear it before you read it

Hearing a piece always helps playing it. Plenty of good players learn by ear first and the page second, and until now a PDF could not play itself to you.

๐Ÿข

Slow, and simpler

Set a slower tempo, or thin the piece down so the tune stands on its own. Hear the shape of the music before the hard version.

๐ŸŽง

Take the audio with you

Download the piece as MP3 and practise with it anywhere, or take the notation into MuseScore, Sibelius or Finale.

Hearing sheet music, answered.

How do I hear what a piece of sheet music sounds like?

Upload the PDF, MusicXML or MuseScore file to LalaScript. It reads the notes, the rhythm and the tempo mark from the page and plays the piece back in your browser. Your first piece is free.

Can I slow it down or hear just the melody?

You can set a slower tempo in one sentence, for example "make the tempo 60", and you can simplify the piece so the tune stands on its own with fewer notes under it. Every change plays back straight away.

Does it work with a scanned or photographed score?

Clean digital exports read exactly. Scans and photos go through our reader and come back with a note saying which bars to check against the original; a scan plays back as well as it was read.

Can I download the audio?

Yes. Download the piece as MP3 to practise with, or as MusicXML, MuseScore or PDF.
