What do I type?
A sentence. "Write me a rock beat, 16 bars, 4/4." "A swing groove at 140, 32 bars." "A funk pattern in 7/8." "A jazz trio: piano, bass and drums, medium swing." You get a drum chart alone, or a band piece with the drums as one of the parts.
What styles does it know?
Rock and ballad, swing (jazz, blues, a walking bass), bossa and samba, funk, march, waltz, 6/8 and 12/8, and odd meters such as 5/4, 7/8 and 11/8 grouped the way drummers group them. Each style has its own groove on the kit, with a fill at the end of every fourth bar and a crash after it.
Is it real drum notation?
Yes. One staff with a percussion clef and the standard positions: kick, snare, hi-hat and ride as x noteheads, crash, toms and side stick. It opens in MuseScore, Sibelius or Finale as a drum part, and the PDF prints as one.
Does it play back as drums?
Yes. The part plays in the browser as a drum kit, and the MIDI download carries the kit too.
Can I add drums to a piece I upload?
Not yet. Today the drums are written when you generate a piece from a prompt. Adding a drum part to an uploaded score is on the way.
